03:14 pm: i smell good!
I got a job!
Only the regular hours are not set and I don't start until the week of valentines, as it is the busiest holiday for florist. Yup, I will again be flower master. I love working in flowershops, what more could be asked for you ask..ok I did, but NOTHING...nothing more to ask for right now.

06:49 pm: I had my first day of class today, looks like it will be the easy one. I also set up a meeting with a counselor, and got a call from the florist I applied at. They want me to come in tomorrow for an interview. Oh what fun! Low pay but who doesn't like flowers? Brandon helped me edit my resume. If this falls through, I will not cry too hard. I enjoy working only 2-3 days a week. Napping and reading. mmmmm

08:48 pm: Reminiscing
I need to go up to the cabin again. It's almost been a year since our last trip. I remember the voyages we took years ago with my extended family and family friends. We would be a group of 15 and some would sleep on the floor. It was great having so many people packed into the happy small space. My two girlfriends and i would get the best bunk in the house. It was a bunk bed that my grandfather built into the corner that the chimney and wall made. The A-frames walls sloped up to a peak, and we could almost touch it. It was so cozy, and the three of us would play barbies. My father would wake us up snoring in the middle of the night on the other side of the chimney, where my parents slept. Then he would wake us up again singing "oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day" on his way down stairs when day light shown. Breakfast was eggs benedict, or Denver eggs and of course...FUZZY NAVELS FOR ALL. Even the kids got a small one. These were no girlie things either. They were more like screwdrivers, with the addition of syrupy peach schnapps. We would eat, drink, then be sleepy again, and play hearts or nerdts all afternoon. Maybe hike out to La Salle falls and catch some crawfish. I would pretend i was a child of the woods, and lived in the little caverns carved out by the swirling water that had receded. There is one picture of my mother from behind with her shirt taken off and tied around her chest like handkerchief. She was so beautiful, and you could see how she still was in love with my father 25 years and four children later, which seems like such a feat these days. We would build fires and roast apples, hot dawgs, smores, and swig out of a bottle of cheap wine. My brothers would bring their music, usually the Smiths, Big Audio Dynamite, the Pixies and so forth. It was the good stuff. Where is the good stuff today? It is defiantly hard to find, as are those fuzzy memories that came so easily back in those days. I want those rosy, soft, pretending days back.

i made sushi for dinner and it was ok, but very lonely sushi. i succeeded in doing almost nothing today except for laundry. god do i ever need to move out of this hell hole. if i seem one more alien burst from a living mans chest, i will smash the television or mark. sci-fi channel all the fucking time. i'd rather watch uni-vision or for that matter...football. at least i did not have to share my sushi, as he did lay down for a nap long enough for me to eat in peace. ok thats it for the ungodly uncle.

my classes do not start for another week, so i really should look for a job again tomorrow, although getting christmas thank you cards and filling them out would be a much easier time. ok. i set low goals.

something might be coming in the mail friday??? but what could it be???

10:09 pm: what can you do with your chopsticks?
Fun with ChopsticksCollapse )

09:15 pm: Brandon left.
I took him to the airport this morning. We sat on the floor in a little corner and talked and held each other. Even snuck a few kisses. The visit had its usual ups and downs. But i only remember the highs, laughs and loves. Oh, and a little bit of screaming, followed by apologies. He burnt me three cd's filled with music. I'm listening to Jimmy Buffet.

We made sushi five times. The veggie was the best, with lox and cream cheese a close second. We toured the winery in Cedarburg, and i crawled in the huge oak barrel. We partied New Years Eve, and props to B for staying sober enough to drive us home safe. We watched movies and took afternoon naps. Went ice-skating downtown. The poor southern boy was soooo cold. We took a drive in the snow, and went to the lakeshore to take pictures the morning after. We broke the bed. SHHHHHHHHHHHH

From the airport i went to Laurels for Belated Christmas. She was tired from her physical therapy that morning, and a little in pain. She had a bunch of metal in her leg from the surgery after the accident that is now trying to pop out of her itty bitty leg. Now it has to be removed, and the therapy started all over. She is optimistic and laughs about it. She almost started crying at the gift i got for her. I was amazed. So glad she liked it. It was just silky pj's and a pretty pillow. She said she never gets gifts like that. Feels good to make her smile. Laurel gave me a candle and the hand-made soap that i love from her shop, a women’s journal with quotes from women of the last few hundred years, and a beautiful purse woven of crazy silky funky yarn. It is the most gorgeous.

My duvet arrived today. This is the most complete bed ensemble i have ever had on my bed. Crazy warm and soft. Loving it. Took a three hour nap after i got back from Laurels. Crazy bad disturbing dreams with B being gone.

Come back B!
